Gday all, beautiful sunny day down here in Tassie after a snow fall yesterday!! Anyway,Ive been trying to load regions from Disc Aus and Hema desert tracks onto the same SD card but each time it only loads them from the last disc I used.So can you load regions from two different CD's onto the same SD card?
While Ive got your attention,Ive got two Meridian GPS's,one Basic and one Colour. Can I use the SD card from one to the other. At the moment if I upload from the CD to the Colour GPS,when I put the card into the Basic model it comes up with a card error and viseversa. Thanks all Nick

Hello Nick - yes you can load multiple regions from DAST and GDT. I am not 100% clued up on all methods but what I do is use a card reader. I create the regions and then cut and save to the hard drive (one of the options in the upload to gps menu) - I then rename them to something meaningful, then copy and paste to SD card (using card reader) and then put SD card back into GPS. I think The Magellan programs, when uploading to the SD card when it is in the GPS, uses the same file name each time and consequently all previous uploads are overwritten. There maybe other workarounds but I think having a card reader is handy because you can create a library of regions on your PC that you can keep for later use ie you dont have to create them again and also it is faster than loading through GPS.

DAST and GDT maps are created and coded to one particular gps (via the serial number you enter during the map creation process) so they will only work on one GPS. You will have to create two sets of maps if you want to use then on two different units. If DAST or GDT tells you you have exceeded the two unit limit (ie you try and enetr a 3rd serial number) - uninstall the program and then reinstall and off you go again (strange security measure).

Cheers
Greg

Thanks Greg, thought that might be the case regarding the SD card and only one GPS.Already using a card reader but will try loading how you suggested. Nick

I have had this problem before , if you do a region straight to the Gps with the car din it , or dorect to a card reader writer , it will overite what you already have on there . I also npow save to hard drive , then you need to go to C drive , then to programe files , click on Magellan , then go to export imiges and you will find them there . just copy and paste onto your sd card . Some magellan gps's wont automaticly go to a new region , you have to go to card utilities and select the map you need for the area you are in . So make sure you name your individul maps acordingly .

this site is also very helpfull

Yeah thanks Eric, what Ive done is coppied four regions from one CD and named them group A(one name for the four regions),then four regions from the other CD and named them group B.These were loaded straight onto the SD card. Now the Database shows group A together, then in card utilities I can change to group B again showing the group of four together(if all that makes sense).
Cheers Nick
