Does anybody have experience with aftermarket seats? I have a Prado RV6 purchased new in 1998 and I find that every time we go on a decent trip my neck starts to hurt within a couple of days. I believe it is because the seat back is too high for my 5'4" body and the headreast pushes my head forward whilst at the same time it provides no support for my neck. As well as a pair of seats that has a shorter back available (my wife is also 5'4"), I am looking for something with good lumbar support - I had a spinal fusion thirty years ago and have got to the stage where I have had to more or less give up motorcycles.

We are planning to leave our property near Canberra and head to the Kimberelys to work, with the Prado and our Platinum edition Kimberly Kamper, early next year so I will need some decents seats for that trip.

Hi Graeme,
had a similar problem with my 80 series cruiser (std poverty pack) & used to end up with migraines after long trips.
ended up buying a paratus seat out of the paper for $200.

It was the best thing i ever did and i havnt had a migraine after a long trip since.

eric here Graeme . You will not realy find another seat much more comfortable than your prado seats . Even Recaro wont realy suit your height . You are better of going to a trimer and spending money on your existing seats. Then can add lumber where its needed , and they can also shorten the hight of the head rest. if you find another seat that you find comfortable out of another vehicle , make sure that it has 2 lock in rails and the seat belt ancore point in the same position. From memory , your seat belt ancore is part of the seat. I can send you pic's on how to make seats fit using the existing rails , if you do find something that you think suits. I would visit a trime first .

Try some of the importers of sports cars, that also wreck them. You can get some brilliant seats for a fraction of the cost of Paratus, Recaro etc.

I have paratus seats in mine, they are AWESOME, the base now needs rebuilding, so thats next.. But I got mine cheap second hand off EBay..

I also had a spinal fusion back in 1983... The Paratus are $$$$$$$$$ but great seats.

Good luck.
