Are there any trips people wouldn't do in this vehicle, or is pajero generally underrated, and capable in 99% where the big boys go (with very minor mods)? Is traction control available on base model diesel manual now??
fuel cons seems excellent...whats the catch?
info appreciated.

Bjorn,
Mate has 3.2l Turbo Auto, great performance. I recently purchased a Prado, but I certainly mulled over the Pajero for awhile. You won't believe this but the missus didn't like the shape, so the Prado is now sitting in the garage.
Traction Control was on the GLS as far as I was aware.

So far so good, but I'll let you know after we've blown the cobwebs out of her. Got it set up for the small trips we do and it is certainly comfortable. Can't seem to get a crack at it at the moment, the missus is welded to the seat.

Bjorn,
As far as a touring vehicle the Pajero is as good as the rest in its class, and with all in that class of vehicle carring enough fuel limits where it can go. If hard core 4WD is the way you want to go than after you modify the vehicle it would be cheaper and quicker to buy a big 4WD to start with.
On all the trips that I take away ther is at least one if not more Pajero's.

Run an NM with a 2" lift. IFS restricts articulation but can generally get through most reasonable rock hops with guidance.
