Hi JRC

I have the Windsor Rapid 13'6" model with Offroad pack. I have had it for nearly 3 years now with no problems (that were not self-inflicted!). It tows very well with the independent suspension and handles off-road conditions very well. It does have limited rear ground clearance, particularly with the optional jerry can holders I have.

Actually, I have just managed to break the jerry can holders off on my last trip, simply dropped into a big mud hole and not enough clearance. But mine were badly located on the rear baumper were simply an accident waiting to happen. I also wiped off the awning and all indicators and roof clips, simply a case of not enough clearance (my fault!). But I do take the van to some pretty remote and tight tracks.

All in all, I reckon its the best value van available for a family when looking for something in that category. But be aware, its a big heavy van when offroad and is NOT in the same league as say a Kimberly Kamper (thought I try!!!). As for Frasier Island, my only concerns would be the weight on the beach (1,600kg loaded) and its size on the tracks ( I haven't been to Frasier, so not certain of tree's etc on inland tracks).

Cheers

Captain

JRC. I've got one about the same size as that you're considering and find it good except the beds are a bit short for a 6 footer. So I sleep diagonally.
It's a good vehicle to tow and to improve things inside I had shelves installed in the robe and put sliding _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx under the cooktop for the cook to load up with cans!
Mine's not an off roader but we use it as the base when travelling ........ when I can get away from work that is.
I also strengthened the back bumper and moved the spare wheel there from underneath, as it used to catch on the kerb when leaving the house.
Good luck.
Alan.
