I'm sure I read this before but searched and can't find it, so please bear with me. Will Landcruiser 16" 6 stud steel wheels fit a GU Patrol? I'm looking at a trailer with cruiser wheels on it and would like avoid the trouble of swaping them if they will fit for emergency spare purposes.

Bill,

Cruiser wheels will fit a Patrol but standard patrol wheels wont fit a cruiser due to indentions on the patrol wheels. non-standard (white, mags etc) are interchangeable.
hope this helps

Hi Bob,

Are you sure thats the right way around??? The original cruiser rims have the tabs and won't fit on a Patrol, but original Patrol rims will fit on a cruiser as no tabs are present.

Will stand corrected if wrong, but after owing an 80 series and currently a Patrol, thats the way I remember it.

Cheers

Captain

My understanding is that the stud spacing is fine. But the size of the centrehole is a touch smaller on the cruiser. So LandCruiser wheels won't fit on the Patrol unless you file/ring out the centre hole a little. Easily done I understand.

Pretty sure there is 2mm difference. I have cruiser mags on my patrol and had to modify the centre cap to allow them to seat properly.

cheers Dave

Billy,
Bought a camper trailer with nissan sunraysias. My toyota (HJ 75) sunraysias will fit on the trailer but the nissan rims off the trailer wont fit on the cruiser because of the dishing.
Cheers,
Bros.

Gday
A factory cruiser wheel has a smaller centre hole, but it can be filed out, or there are 5 patrol 16x8's on ebay at the moment :-)
If we are talking 16x8's here, the cruiser wheel is slightly deeper dished, and sits an inch or so further out to a patrol 16x8.

Just been through this exercise. Older cruiser wheels both genuine and aftermarket will NOT fit patrols. That is the front hub. Newer style aftermarket rims will now fit either vehicle as the centre hole is bigger to accommodate both hubs. Make sure the offset is the same as there is a big range for example Navara rims won't fit a patrol diesel even if the centre is bored out as the offset is quite different. A mates cruiser rims won't fit the front of my nissan and the offset is close to 70mm different.
