Hi Everyone,

We are looking at grabbing a few days away in Northern NSW and I am interested in a place near Iluka called Woody Head.

I have all the info from the local National Parks folk but would be most appreciative if anyone has any first hand info to offer on the place. I checked for previous articles on the forum but came up blank.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

Its been a few years , but we used to go there often.

Its more like a Caravan Park then a campground.

It IS very nice , and has facilities , but is likely to be very busy of a weekend , at this time of year.

We stayed a number of times at Black Rock Camp Ground (on the road into Iluka/Woody Head).

A friend of ours has a permanent caravan there and I have been a few times. It is very pleasant and there is good swimming and surfing in the area as well as some very good rock river and beach fishing. Yamba is only about half an hour to 45 mins away if you want a beach town. I would recomend it for a few days.

Hi Brian,

As others have stated it is definitely worth a visit. We were there at Easter last year and really enjoyed it. Good fishing, nice facilities, and some easy beach driving to be had.

Have fun.
