Grant,
It has been a few years since I looked at them but I'll offer an opinion.
I am more than willing to be corrected by anyone on this.
From what I remember they have 1 very large bed, cooking facilities are inside and there appears to be limited storage space for additional gear. When I was looking for a camper I needed accomodation for 5 and needed heaps of storage space so I did not spend a great deal of time looking at this particular model. Also there seemd to be a lot of "model specific parts" on them. I feel this could make repairs in the field more difficult. They also seemed quite expensive.
Having said that if I was looking for a go anywhere fairly luxurious camper for two people I would certainly revisit the Delux. I have seen plenty of them in the bush and they seem to handle quite
well are relatively quick to set up and they have plenty of room for a couple. They also have the advantage of being up high off the ground, when set up, so if you have to
camp on waterlogged ground that is a good thing. They have alot of little added extras that you probably don't need in the bush but could be nice to have.
I am not sure about weight, how
well they perform in the really rough stuff or how
well they last. They have been around for a while now and seem to keep on selling while some others have come and gone in the same time. I am also unsure as to how you would get on if you wanted to carry a boat.
There are a number of Delux owners who are members of this site and I am sure they will be able to tell you more.
As I have said before the best camper for you is the camper thatsuits you best.
Keep shopping until you get what you want and have fun along the way.

Saw them at the show.from memory about 10k and hard top?Looked ok but i didn't like the seperate kitchen that needed to be fully removed to be used. No practical experience tho. Seemed like reasonable value.

If i were you i would hire one first to get an idea on what they are like the hire prices are pretty reasonable and it's the best way to help you make up your mind what too buy, we did it this way you proberbly won't want hire one in winter in Tassie as we did but pick your favorite desto and go there for a couple of days.
Baz.
If you haven't been to there web site click on the link above (hire one first.)

Great advice Baz. We spent a very long time choosing our campertrailer, and having covered 35,000kms in the last 12 months, we don't regret our choice. We have a Challenge CT, who also hire them out. Hire different ones and compare them all in a practical way.
Happy travels

Hi Grant,
We have a Deluxe, double off road camper & have found it to be very good. it's actually pictured on their web site ( red top on the home page ) whilst the picture below it is not ours.
We hired one of theirs first , george did a weekend hire for .... $40 I think.
Whilst they are not the cheapest around, we wanted the two beds & that meant that we had deluxe & trak shak to choose from basically. at about $6000 diff in price Deluxe did it for me. I did visit the Trak shak factory & they are made to vg specs. but I couldnt justify the $$$ for a bit better finish, after all after a few trips they all get scratched & dirty.
If you are looking at the side campers
well you have a lot more manufacturers to choose from.
As far as towing goes it just sits there very
well & the track is the same as my patrol.
If weight is of great concern you may have to look at others.
Ours is heavy which ever way you look at it. It came in heavier than the specs around 200kg heavier. (
water tank, tool box, battery, spare carrier) I won't be taking it to the cape!
