goodday all
does anybody happen to have the settings for the tapits for a nissan 4.2 turbo diesel intercooled motor 60k service says check them and the handbook gives a heap of other settings but not these and i havent got around to buying a wqorkshop manual yet

The nissan workshop manual says 0.008" cold 0.015 hot intake and exhaust i did my GQ several times never seemed to need adjusting ,about to do my GU 4.2tdi at 40,000 service

steve thats the same clearance for both intake and exhaust

Steve sorry mate that is the tb42 (petrol engine) TD42 clearances are nearlly the same but they only quote hot clearances at 0.0138 or 0.35mm Maurie check with sevice dept c if they give acold clearance site easier cold

Valve clearences to be set hot 14thou inlet and exhaust . Set 1,2,4,5,8,9 then set 3,6,7,10,11,12 on top dead no1 and no6.
