I bought a pole to mount the flag for the
Robe trip.
Any suggestions a to where to get a flag or what to use as one?

Yep - mount it as high as you can (I've seen them on roof racks) - some will be about without a flag, so you won't see them - make sure they can see you!! ;-)
Don't just settle for a small triangle at the top.. Use two or three different color 'rags'
see here for examples..

Jim I use one of my wifes bras the red lacy one it fell of and landed on the windscreen and couldnt see a thing.
I think it was to big.
I better re think that one for next trip.

bought flag for simpson trip few yrs ago from bike
shop about $8 from memory and taped to cb aerial i had at time
next yr when we go again will tape to roofrack or add a pole to bullbar and tape to that as uhf aerial not long enough and dont have cb anymore
