Hi all,
I have just purchased the Extradrive Warranty Option for my 2003 GU
Patrol. The wording is not quite clear. Does anyone have any clear
understanding of this warranty option or an email address of Nissan
Australia so I can confirm in writing?
The Patrol was officially delivered/first registered on 1/5/2003 - am I correct in
assuming that the extradrive warranty means that I am covered until
1/5/2007 and up to 150,00klms (or which ever comes first) ?
Thanks
Phil P

Nissan offer three options for extended warranty, extradrive, extratime or both. The first assumes that you do high mileage in a short period of time, the second low mileage in a longer period of time and the third covers both. The extradrive doesn't extend your 3 year warranty, it assumes that you do more than the average each year. If you want five years/150,000 km, you'll have to see if you can upgrade.

Hi Phil,
Don't wont to rain on your parade but i think you just wasted your money bying the extra warranty. I have had a wherel sheer the studs comkpletly and have had the roof crack and both times took it to Nissan for a claim and both times they said "outside our warranty guide lines"
Would I buy another Nissan, Yes but it will be second hand as the depreciation is not worth buying new especially when they don't honor the claims.

Phil
I have the extended warranty and took the 50,000 kms or 2 year option which gives me up to 150k or total 5 years from the date of purchase from the car.
Since taking the warranty on my 2000 GU 3 litre I have had the gearbox 5th gear problem common to this model and only 3 weeks ago the air conditioner died in the
Simpson Desert.
Nissan are replacing the compressor and if necessary the condensor and evaporator. They will not know about those till they remove.
The $900 warranty was a very good investment.

Plugger

Phil,
I purchased the extradrive warranty for my TD4.2T and since the original 3 yr warranty, have had two new turbos and a gearbox fixed under the extended warranty. Was
well worth the $900 in my mind.
