G'day
Ive been up there many times and think its great, fishing is fantastic lots of good size cod etc (bardi grubs my bait of choice) 4wding can get quite good with some deep ruts around and often some mud even at this time of the year..
we usually
camp right on the bank and have our rods in all day/night, watch for snakes as they are around but wont bother you if you dont bother them..
there is a little milk bar and pub just before the barmah
state forest go in and have a chat to the girls in the milk bar they will give you some hints/tips to the area also be aware that Moama is the last place for fuel so if your gonna do some driving once you get to the forest fuel up..
any questions let me know..
cheers

Cant say i know much about spear fishing in the murray but i assume you would have a high success rate there's lots of logs and branches near the edge of the
water fish would hover around so give it ago and let me know,
as far as 4wding there is nothing to serious ive been up there on my own and didnt need to use the winch its nice relaxing 4wding but still abit of fun and gets your car dirty in the summer months there are some aborigines that
camp around the place so if you get to stuck they always seem happy to help also the people at the milk bar would give ya a hand..
the entrance is right near the milkbar if your coming from ecuca/moama way the pub/milk bar/payphone will be on your left turn at the milkbar drive thirty metres and you will see a
sign "barmah state forest" you can pretty much
camp from there onwards pehaps stay near
the entrance for the first night then drive on the next day to a nicer spot, you can also get maps from the
information centre in
echuca nice old ladies working in there but be aware they talk your ear off..
any thing else let me know...
