Hi Guys calling Jack owners, has any one replaced their water pump on a diesel Jack, (4JX1) motor (7/99). Mine looks to have a weep, and when I equired about a replacement found out there is not an after market one available and have to buy genuine @ $402.00 retail. Thats when I had a weep.
Any one know of a after market one.
Cheers
Will

I can understand your weeping Will.....Maybe worth looking at buying one from the USA could be a cheaper option. Never done this but they have heaps more Isuzus than us here so maybe better prices as well.

Yep - Isuzu Trooper in the US - bit of surfing might be the go - I've ordered a polyair type suspension bag kit from there - hope it turns out ok - will post when done.

Try Jackeroo world....usually have "genuine" parts a lot cheaper or if you have a mechanic mate see if he will buy you one at trade about $130.....

Will,

Thanks for the post. I changed my oil & filter on Sunday & noticed a slight weep from the water pump. Will check it out in more detail now. $400 is abit steep.

Seperately, does anyone know of an alternate oil filter supplier? I've been $48-52 dollars over the years and can only get genuine from Holden. Any other sources? Same motor (4JX1).

Hi Andrew,
I use a oil filter from my local Peps auto store in Engadine, the number is WZ 600, I believe it is made or marketed by Wesfil @ around $20 to $22.

Yes the head is fixed it was the intake valves leaking due to pitting on the valve face .The head rebuilder said it is not an uncommon with engines that have exhaust gas running back in the intake.
