Just a few things to check your GQ for. The drivers side 'A' pillar should have at least two Nissan stickers on it. One was for a Brake line recall, and the other was for a modification to the steering-chassis making it stronger-some were cracking. As these were safety recalls you should still be able to get them done! Give Nissan a bell with your VIN to see if yours has been done.
We also used to do a small Mod (-not a Nissan Mod!-) to the engine mounts on the TD42 (from new) as
well. When removed (engine mount) its obvious to see where the engine side of the mount has been contacting the chassis side of the mount, causing quite bad engine vibration to transmitt through the body at low engine rpm and/or high load. Can be fixed by removing just a few mm of material off the mount. Also given the age of the TD42 now, make sure there is a gap on the flat uper parts of the mount! GQ's rule.........................col

I have had the steering one done, but I was unaware of the other one. I will give them a ring. It will be interesting coz
mine is a Maverick, and when I had the steering one done at the Ford dealer when Ford recognised them.

Dont worry, if your car wouldnt have had the brake lines done by now, you would know about it LMAO
The steering was fixed on the 91 onwards. Engine mounts changed
mine 2 times, never had any rubbing marks on the top section, although I have heard of it. Also depends on which mount you have 2 or 4 bolt.
I think you would be lucky to find one with a sticker... LMAO

Giving nissan a call wont get you far, I have tried that in the past, and when a bloke in the club foudn out his hadnt been done, Its way past the timelimit for nissan to do anything about it - and that was a nissan club committee member they turned down. You woudl think they would look after their own.

I am reasonably sure that there is no time limit for a "safety" recall, and they have no right to decline to carry it out as this leaves them open to being sued if anything goes wrong. Only the original purchaser was sent a recall notice, and when carried out the dealer was required to place a recall sticker on the 'A' pillar. I was a Tech. and warranty clerk at the time............................col

I can tell you for a fact there is a time limit on a safety recall. When my front line on right side died, I asked they laughed.

Truckster is right, after a bit of digging, a manufacturer must replace free of charge any safety recall up to 10 years from the date of purchase. So if you own a 94 Nissan (or any other vehicle for that matter) I would be seeing if there are any outstanding recalls fixed fer nix. Anthing older its a good idea to carry out the safety recalls anyway at your own cost...........................col
