G'day all. My work wagon has developed a problem with the ignition. When I turn the key to glow, the glow light and little
orange engine don't show all the time and without the little engine symbol the thing will crank but not start - even when hot (so its not a glow plug problem). I'm thinking its got something to do with the immoboliser (factory one)?? I just have to keep flicking the key off and on 20 odd times before the light comes up and then I'm away. Anyone got any ideas???
Now I know why I'm a cruiser man. LOL!!
Cheers,
Hughesy

Immobilizer would be a starting point... Flicking the key will only fubar the thing more

Yeah Truckster, I was wondering if anyone had had this problem before and knew what was done to fix it. The closest Nissan dealer is 300km away and the local mechanic had an expression on his face that said "bleepe I wouldn't know where to start", and at $60/hour I was hoping I could shorten the problem solving time.
Cheers,

G'day Hughesy,
I thought I'd have my two bobs worth, I had an EF Falcon when I was in the taxi game in
Perth that had trouble like yours; eventually got so sick of being left in the paddock at the airport with all the other cars going around me, I got a very smart mechanic to by pass the Ford setup and I had another type installed.
Not an easy job but with a wiring diagram from Ford he did it.
Really gets on ya tripe doesn't it
