i have been using bio diesle for a week now i think its great,
my pajero runs smoother no black smoke .
used to get 770 from a tank now around 800 not much of an improvmentbut any is better than none, the best thing is its cheaper by 4 cents
im running a second filter as it cleans out your tank the first time you use it

talking to the man that knows all at { saff } he said if you can warm the bio fuel it works even better .
so i was thinking of getting an element from an auto radiator and having it fitted to my radiator so the coolant heats the mixture prior to injection pluss it woiuld keep it at a constant temp

well thats my idea any others????

So what are you buying it in drums and keeping them at home, or how does it work? Are there any long term "side effects"? Can you just put a tank full of normal diesel in if your away on holidays etc? Very interested in this topic, not only because of poential savings in $$$ but just the environmental impact as I would imagine basically no sulpher right?

Another WA person very interseted in Bio-diesel. I have researched several different ways to produce BD, but still unsure which recipe to use. From info on the web BD can be run at up to 100%, only becomes a small issue with older diesels rubber fuel lines, and injector pump seals. I would choose to run approx 90% BD to 10% normal diesel, as BD has lower lubricosity.....more info ie. recipe etc would be appreciated..........col

So basically if it weren't for the government worrying about their tax and the oil companies, we'd all be running on it and the environment would be much better off....

i average my kms per Ltr at time of fill up
eg.
if i fill my tank and go for a drive say 50ks then fill my tank again and use 5 Ltrs i know my tank hold 92 ltrs

100 km X 5 ltrs u used divied by the distance you traveled 50

u get average klms per ltr then devide that figure into the amout your tank hold then you get on an average how far you should get on a tank

im getting an average of 11.5 kms per ltr on bio diesel
on normal diesel i was getting 12-12.5 klms per ltr

pajero 2.5 turbo intercooled normal city driving with a few long trips
this is what it averages out to........

I read that BioD has better lubrication properties than mineral diesel. BioD also attracts the same fuel excise as mineral D too, so if you are knocking it out in the back shed I hope you are sending Mr Costello his cheque at the end of the month.(TIC)
