Seen the latest Patrol advert? How many of you Nissan drivers carry a handy cake of soap in the centre console? And then use it to pollute a water source? I'm not saying Toyota are any better with their ads eg that snake bite ad is just as ridiculous. Can't these advertising people come up with anything decent and a bit realistic! They seem to want to outdo each other with rubbish.

Pffft... you think thats bad. I went into the Nissan dealer in Colac to ask when the Cab's looks will be upgraded (I want to buy the current shape) and she started waffling on about how the current shape is too "rugged" and the softer look appeals to more people (i.e. women)

Next Mack will be selling trucks with a little flower holder like the new Dubs :(

Anyone seen the Konica-Minolta ad where the mud-covered Land Rover Series III is being washed down? - now we're talking 'real' 4WDs!

'Leo the SIII on Moreton Island SE Qld'

Wot? You saying I'm no longer welcome here now that I've owned-up to owning a Land Rover (well two, actually)?? Wait 'til the Equal Opportunities Commission hears about this!!!

Seriously, thanks Baz but I've been a semi-regular on aulro for a while now - and yes, they are good blokes (even if just a tad one-eyed on certain topics...)

I've always done that, carry some dove around in the truck especially if I'm going to rescue a horse/cow by hand, by myself in torrential rain.

You must admit, a good advertising campaign is on that is talked about. Hate it or love it, they got to you!

I always carry soap in the Patrol, sometimes you acidentally rub against a Toyota and you really need to have that soap handy, thats why they sell mobile showers .... just in case......

Nice one,

I'm a Landcruiser owner now and when I see a broken down LC I still yell "Get a Nissan" on road. The 80 series is definately better but had some great times with the ol' MQ. Off road I still try and help all in need. I know I've needed the help of a Nissan, but only once. Pulled many more GQ/GU's out though.

C'mon guys, I actually had a quiet chuckle when I saw it, I mean how many 4wd's do you see now with leather interier and all the flash stuff? HEAPS. I think it's almost pulling the bleep out of themselves more than anything, going on about pollutiing rivers and stuff, I mean really, it's a TV ad. If it was meant to be serious fair enough, but a laughs a laugh and if you nit pick every kind of comical thing around, the plannet would get pretty boring.

Soap is for the sensitive new age guys. I've got a tub of industrial strength hand cleaner with pummice in my ute. Can't get it in the centre console though as that is full of those nice little hand cleaners from KFC.

Classic!

Did an oil change once and managed to get nice thick black diesel oil all over the floor, put my head in it without noticing. Decided it would be a good idea to wash my hair with degreaser..as you do.

2 weeks later my hair was still not able to produce natural oil and felt like a wire brush! Ahhhhh, the good ol' days!

I have a bottle of shower jell so I can have a wash when I get out of the Terrano.

One day I should get around to vacuuming the car out and cleaning the kiddies chocolate cake hand prints off the seats.

What would you tell your advertisind people ? dont offend people . dont advertise silly things , do not try to get people attention ? is you say yes to any of these , then dont wonder why your not in buisness or failed at one lol
