Not trying to start a Nissan v Toyota........................................
Only kidding course I am there hasnt been one for a while. Anyway just got back from the open excursion work was running where people from exploration industry and other interested people go on a tag along tour to check out the Kalgoorlie region geology with me up the back to pick up the pieces. There were 21 vehickles in the tour with 18 of them toyotas the break down was 78 utesx7 100sx5 80s x2 75s x2 (1 ute 1 troopy) 60s x1 hiluxx1 and 1 navara (Nissans sole rep) 1 jeep huh???? and 1 landie (always 1 in evey crowd) in the 600k 5 flats were had but only with the 6 and 8 ply tyres. The tour went along the Transline from Kalgoorle to Karonie then wound its way south to the eyre highway camping in the bush coming out about 100k east of Norseman where we camped at the Frazer range station (great camping facilities) before heading towards Norseman and turning north 30k before and coming out at widgiemooltha. So cmon guys wheres your Nissans?

Sounds familiar and sounds like you had a great trip.

When I crossed the simpson solo in my Nissan I came across a tag along group coming the other way.

The tag-along vehicles were all Toyatas except for one rodeo. Suppose they keep together to help each other out.

Utemad

You might have something there. The rodeo was actually in the rear and thats usually where the most capable vehicle travels.

Not an extreme enough track for a Nissan - afraid of being called a big girls blouse for going on such a soft trip..................................just kidding Davoe. Do you have any oziexplorer track and waypoint files for this trek? Head out that way next year and would be interested in any track info for planning purposes.

Cheers

the trip wasnrt a comercial tagalong but rather to show people interested in geology different formations . my suggestion would be to grab the 4wd days in the eastern goldfields book and the holland track and cavehill woodlines book available from most newsagents in kalgoorlie. If you are really keen I can send you the excursion guide which has the trip notes as well as all the geological info (would need your address)

Wow imagine that. A tag along with people looking at rock formations. I bet that they had Iced tea and lemonade while singing Kumbya My Lord around the camp fire. Would have been a few bearded blokes and home educated kids amongst that lot. Wish id been there. Lol
