I saw on the news last night that the current Toyota Hilux has the lowest "theftability" rating of cars tested by NRMA, scoring 0 out of 120.
That's not going to be good news for insurance premiums!

Gday Savvas,
Truth be told, if anyone wants to get into any car, they will. Trouble with those ratings is that they don't factor in the amount of those cars on the road, and I think it was the 2wd hilux as
well. There's (as truckster would say) 20989732897324987 hiluxes on the road so of course more of them are going to be broken into! The XF a few years ago was the most stolen, but there again there was the same number as above on the road.
Good excuse for insurers to raise premiiums on those cars though!
Cheers
Chris.

It'll be interesting to see if Impreza WRX premiums fall now, seeing as it something like the 6th best in the country.
Bet you they don't.

Chris, The hilux is not the most stolen but has been rated by the nrma as the most easiest to break into...big difference, afterall who wants to steal slow crappy hilux apart from a few 4x4 freaks when they can steal a WRX

Mick,
Because it crashed it does not necessarily mean it's damaged - it's a Hilux remember!
y wife bounces her's off trees about twice a week but until such time that the dents on either side start touching in the middle nothing seems able to stop it running.
