Haven't done the conversion but I've replaced two cylinder heads on 2.6 Sigma's in the past, they have a tendency to be very weak.

I haven't done it myself , but spoke to someone who has , a while back.

He was very happy with it , and was relatively easy to do. In physical size , there is no difference bewteen the 2.6 , and 2.0l. However the Gearbox IS different , and you will need one matched to the 2.6.

The problem I think , is getting hold of a decent 2.6 motor. Most 2nd hand ones blow that much smoke , and rebuilt , recon motors , would cost as much as the vehicle itself.

There are 2 different sizes of bellhousing patterns used on 4G63 in L300. The smaller ones are 110mm across the top 2 bellhousing bolts(where it bolts to the back of the engine) and 310mm across the bottom 2. The bigger ones are 130 and 330mm. Sigma 4G54 engines also had small and large bellhousings. The automatic transmission engine was the small one and the manual the big one. Sigma engines are so old now that you would have difficulty in finding a good secondhand one. Have you considered using a 4G64 2.4 litre out of a later model L300. It just so happens that I import secondhand engines from Japan, and also happen to have a 4G64 in stock.
