Toohey,
Temps naturally vary according to speed and load but here are the general readings that I am seeing.
Around town ie 60kph 350 -375
Highway cruising @100kph 385 - 410
Highway cruising @ 110kph 430 - 450
The highest I have recorded- 550 on a 1.5 km quite steep pull at highway speed.
I am amazed how quickly the temp drops when descending hills or when decelerating. Back to around 300 in 15- 20 secs. This is where the digital readout comes into its own, as I said in an earlier post; very sensitive.
I have noticed even a change in ambient temp effects the exhaust temp readings. Seems to run cooler at night and early morning than it does at midday for example, maybe that has something to do with better combustion at lower air temps.
Havent done any serious towing yet but Im sure the readings will be a litle higher with the 1.7t van in tow.
Would be interesred to hear what your readings are when you have the pryo installed.
Cheers.
