I have a 4.5 Lt petrol patrol and was struggling for a second battery as
well.
After 6 months of hunting, i've found one and only battery tray that will go in it. If the engine config. is the same as the 4.5, then this is your only option inside the engine bay. The washer bottle goes to back passenger side and the tray sits where the washer bottle is now in front of the battery. I've found a 6-a/hr AGM battery that fits in it. I am however still waiting for
mine to arrive.
there is one other option but it's not worth while
It's very complicated. I can explain it further on e-mail. ssfw@bigpond.com

Hi,
I have a 4.8 also and unfortunately unless things have changed over the last 2 years you'll be stuck puting one in the back. Tried all the suppliers but no luck unless you are willing to shift the ABS. As a by the way the little vacant space next to the ABS makes a great spot for the compressor.

I and several mates also have 4.5 Patrols. We couldn't find a workable dual battery setup.
I also know a bloke who has a very modded 4.5 Patrol , and he gave up. Money was of little concern to him.

sorry about the typo. it's 60 a/hr battery.
Guys
I have a 4.5L petrol. It is possible to fit a battery in the bay. 2 methods. E-mail me if you want to know how. Multiple configerations of battery. Can have a starting battery and a 100a/hr AGM if you want.
When my tray arrives, i'll have 180a/hr

What model 4.5 have you got.
There would be no way known I would fit the washer bottle , on the passenger side.
Oh yeah , mines a Ti with ABS etc. maybe thats the diff.

Mine is a TI as
well. GU 2000.
The tray is design ed for it and the washer bottle definitely fits in the back passenger corner where the ABS and auto boxes are. I've seen it. that's how i found out about the tray.

Mate , not disagreeing , sounds good.
I'm just surprised that the people that I know researched this throughly , and contacted all the main players with no joy.

Mate of
mine has the 4.8 GU and recently had a second battery installed.. It's one of those Gel jobbies - where it was put and what was relocated I can't remember... I went with him to pick it up, and there was no commotion (like the dude didn't say it was a huge deal, and we had quite a chat..)
Pride's did the job (in Fyshwick, ACT) - they also installed a Piranha shower under the bonnet at the same time.
