Have just adjusted tappets, (lot of ancillery parts to remove and replace) blanked off EGR( dirty gunk in inlet manifold) I would like to know what part the vacum operated valve on outlet side of the intercooler plays ,mabe Servo can help ??

The Throttle valve or actuator you mentioned serves 2 purposes.
1. Aids in the operation of the EGR system ( varies the amount of air to EGR mix)
2. To assist in engine shut down eg to reduce run on.

Seems to b a lot of add ons on this engine compared to my old gq, plenty off sharp bits to rip off skin on hands( doing tappets)
