Does the Nissan Steel BullBar that provides for the mounting of an electric winch allow the fitting of any electric winch? Are
winches all made for a standard fit?

I know the Warn and Ramsey fit the same hole, and I am told the OX and Warn are interchangable as
well. As to the rest sorry i cant help. From what I have seen the superwinch seems to have a different mounting system.
Maybe someone else to can further enlightn us

I have an ARB winch bar that was designed for an 8000 or 9000lb Warne electric winch. However I have fitted a 10000lb Ox hydraulic that bolted straight in. Although I had to file the rope slot out to make it slightly lower.
They seem to be a standard fit.

I don't reckon you'll have a prob with the main brands. Nobody would buy them if they had to make mods to their bar. What which did you have in mind?

Thanks guys. I don't know which winch to get yet. The GU's going to the panel
shop soon for repairs resulting from a wayward fallen tree in the scrub. Stuffed the plastic bumper and a guard. I figured I'd get the repairer to fit the BullBar instead of the std bumper.

I have an ARB bar and a Brawn winch. The latter is a tight fit and the front pin holes for the rollers do not match...so I left them out. It works just as
well though.

OK, I've decided...
Either a Nissan or an ARB bar. The ARB appears to be sturdier than the Nissan, but it also seems to protrude quite a bit further from the front of the GU than the Nissan one seems to (in the pictures, anyway). This may be a problem when trying to get round the truck when it is in the garage. Can anyone tell me how far the ARB protrudes from the bottom of the grille?
The winch will be a Magnum 9,000lb. Currently available at around $1,100 from ARB.
If the Magnum fits in the Nissan bar and the ARB one sticks out too far then the Nissan will probably be the go (unless, of course you folks tell me to steer clear!).
Isn't this
forum great? The at Exploroz do a great job, eh?
