We got the 99 SE Jack comprehensive with the RAA (SA) for low $400's (our new Campomatic CT is with them too but). That is a reduction - yes...a reduction, for us this year. Mind you, you never know how good the policy is until you break something (and that is very rare for us).

Gday mate,
Just doesn't go on value of vehicle. Also goes on how safe your suburb is, whether locked up at home address, if you put extra accessories on it, accidents, speeding/red light/etc offences, how secure your vehicle is and how often the model is stolen, age of other drivers, their history. It's called risk management and it happens to everyone.
It's going to happen anywhere you go. If you've had a good run with them, maybe it's worth the extra $46...only equates to an extra $3.83 per month.

In not sure hes worried about the 3.83 a mth, but more the drop in value by what about 1/3rd of the cars value? NFI what a jacks worth... but to me thats a massive drop in "agreed" value.
"agreed value dropped by $5910"
Wouldnt that make it NOT agreed value?

You are in a fine mood today aren't you truckster!
You pay a little for an agreed value within reason. Otherwise, you pay a lower premium and get market value.
In my case, I paid below 50k for my truck, got stuff for free, got all accessories cheap. Told insurance company that story, had it assessed at one of their centres, agreed value $66k. Most assuredly didn't spend anywhere near 16-20k on accessories.
As you stated in a different post...before airing concerns, maybe give the company you are dealing with a chance at explaining. It may even be an error.

Ring the same company and act as though you are a NEW customer...
See what they quote you, mate did that several months ago, the price was much less than his snailmailed quote!
When asked why, they said "I dont know sir".. that was the supposed team leader that TB was put thru to as
well!
Then ring several other companies. Theres also a stack that do online quotes.

That's because they DO using baiting techniques.
They will get you in on a low quote to start with and then hit you at renewal time, but will never admit to it.

My daughter (20yo) just bought a Lancer. Insurance quotes (qld)
Suncorp...1500
Racq........1100
Mate told me to try budget direct on the net $898. Had never heard of them before so ignored it.
Wont go to AAMI because of 4WD TV programmes..

very helpfull on the phone.
one thing i couldnt work out to start with was when i asked where am i covered off roadand was told any where you can be legally and used in a way that the manufacturer specifies.
what does that mean i asked
well if your climbing a
hill going up
hill at 45deg and the manufacturer says the car is designed for 35 deg you aint covered.
thats about all i know till i make a claim.

Willie, You must be one of the great risk-takers of all time. Why, I bet you never used to wear a
seat belt when you was a youngen either, eh??
I'd love to have the guts to quit my comprehensive policy, but knowing my p!ss-poor luck, the day after I cancelled it I'd have a prang that'd be my own stupid fault and I'd up bleep ters ditch.
Cya mate

Hello Roachie
I used to insure religiously and over the years have had one r two claims paid out but when we decided to go on the wallaby 10 years ago suddenly I became 'persona non grata'. In other words no one wanted to know me and my insurance co bumped the premiums up to high heaven. No fixed address and you are regarded a vagrant by business in this country. So I said stuff you and dropped all insurances. I have had mishaps since then but I have had to wear the consequences myself and be responsible for my own actions. So I still do all the things I used to do but I take it easy.
Yes, you are right. I never wore seatbelts until about 15 years ago when while travelling down the old
Darwin railway line my Daihatsu found a wayward starpicket sticking out of the ground in the long grass. A sudden stop at 40kmh and me head altered the windscreen configuration and me knees reshaped the dashboard. Since then I have always worn seatbelts.
These days I owe no money, have no debt, pay cash for everything(no credit cards either) and don't worry about bloody insurance!!!!
See my pic below? I am living under the
rainbow :o)
