G'day,

I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the cause (and required fix) for an oil leak before I seek advice from a mechanic.

The car is a 1992 GQ, with a TD42. The droplet is hanging off the front of the clutch housing, and leaves a small spot on the driveway about 4cm across each night. It is black oil, and I suspect it is engine oil rather than gear box oil.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

GPA, could be old oil dripping from oil filter change - its a messy business from personal experience . Hopefully that's all it is. Good luck, Mike.

Hi GPA,l have the same problem on my GQ and it is leaking from the rocket cover gaskit.
Easy to fix, just make sure it is coming from their first and maybe even try to tighten the top bolts first before replacing the gasket.Regards Jason
