noisy pajero

my pajero has started to whistle sounds like its coming from the turbo side it only does it when under load (working) any ideas which gasket has gone

One of our F250s did the same thing. Sounded like it was leaking boost pressure when boosting (of course). Turned out to be a hole in the casting. It did it from new though. Ford had it fixed but you can still hear it a bit. However it used to be quite loud even with the windows up. How it never got pick up in predelivery I'll never know. Not to mention the missing trim parts and the steering wheel about 90 deg off from centre.
Anyway it is probably a pipe or something. Just check everything is tight and has no cracks.

Hi Rex Had exactly the same noise as you describe. Having just had a Safari snorkle fitted we put it down to resonance. Wrong!! They hadn't tightened the inlet hose to the turbo. It can also happen when you service the air cleaner on an NM NP i:e the inlet hose can work off, Stan
