I have seen a particular type of roof rack on a couple of troopys in
brisbane but i cannot find any info on them . One was at a shopping centre and the other one was going in opposite direction . Description as follows . Looks like steel , box tubing , full length from the back to the top of windscreen . Has a ladder down one side and has what looks like a sort of a built in steel box at the front which goes right across . Looks really heavy duty , full length and
well made in steel and has an access ladder which is exactly what i am after . Any help appreciated as always.
regards glenno .

Glenno
can't help you with the post but was looking at getting a troopy (in Bne) and wondered if you could give any advice, what & where to buy etc. does 3 or 11 matter?
have you got a specs list on your mods?
will keep a eye out for the rack.
cheers

JOHN C , The main thing with a troopy is the seating arrangments . If its only two of you then an eleven or three seater is fine . If you have kids or three wives etc then it gets complicated . I have one wife and two kids so i looked around for an eleven seater (forget about looking for a 6 seater rv model as they are as rare as hens teeth) . Remove the original front seats and put some good
aftermarket seats in . You can have all sorts of aftermarket seating arrangments/ combinations . I personally would not recomend side facing seats to be used for carrying passengers(too dangerous). I removed the first row of side seats and installed an aftermarket bench
seat which folds up against the front seats . In the folded position this allows me enough room in the back to put in whatever i want . Storage drawers with bed extention etc . I have seen on this
forum before that if you buy a three seater you cannot compliance it for anymore seating . (in qld an 11 seater troopy is registered as a mini bus) LOL . A troopy is basically a no worry box that you put a lot of stuff in and on .cheers
