To much SHOUTING, and
mine is cooler than just below half for normal driving so you may have a problem across the whole range...Fan hub???

I think faulty fan hubs only cause problems at low speed. I presume that at 4500-5500RPM the air flow from motion is considerable. If that's the only situation which leads to a rise in temp then I think the cooling system is just not up to the task - I've known other Patrol owners who've had similar problems. By the way if it's just becoming warmer and not actually overheating then it's not a problem.

re the fan -Wrong.
Faulty viscous fans can cause problems at almost any speed.
Maybe less noticeable at highway speeds, but still a factor.
As I said in an earlier post, the viscous fan is the most common source of overheating problems.

Check your lower radiator hose, as they can suck closed at high RPM

At that Rev range - Yep it's gonna get warmer!! Does it drop back when you lower the Revs?

I think you may find your radiator core might be blocked/old and giving up the ghost.
Mine last summer ran hot jsut driving on the freeway.. had it checked and basicly the core was coming away from the fins.. basicly age of the unit and dirt that couldnt be washed away taking its toll..
go get your radiator preasure tested, it is mostly likely that.....

Wow, i must baby minw too much.......didn't know it was capable of so high revs. I rarely use more than 3500 rpm even in soft sand.
Mine heats up a bit when doing long low range stints. Could be a blocked radiator for yourself.
