After the post about these a couple of days ago, I went straight out and bought one. Of course I didn't tell SWMBO until after we had left home for a camping weekend.

Just wanted to say that it seems to be a handy little gadget (if you have room for another cooking item).

Only used it to heat up those part-cooked bread rolls you get from the supermarket, but for minimal effort it was nice to have hot fresh rolls for breakfast.

Camped at Amamoor SF all weekend in the pouring rain. When we didn't want to venture out to cook breakfast both mornings, it was great to plug the unit in and get something warm to eat.

Only drawbacks, it's another device for cooking - aren't there enough packed in the car already, and the powerdraw - don't know the exact power draw, but am always conscious of available battery power.

hiya andrew, like you-we are guilty of seeing that post and zipping down to the local Dickie store.
turned out to be there at the great price of $24.95. used it today whilst out and about, heated two pies and four sausage rolls in just under an hour,,,,to the point where the missus was asking for a pair of tong's, as she burnt her fingers removing the food.
they appear to be a great little unit, get the food nice and hot, and small enough not to take up to much room.
we sat it on the fllor between the wifes feet as we were driving, didnt get hot on the outside to any great degree( be a good foot warmer on those cold winter mornings :) ).

I've had one for a couple of months. I packed a breakfast of cooked sauasages, cooked ham steak, cooked scrambled eggs and some raw tomato into a foil container and heated it the next morning. 40 minutes, hot breakfast, would have gone great with a couple of hot rolls or perhaps a croissant or two.

I've tested the current draw as accurately as I can and reckon it draws 8 amps.

It's a bloody gem.

Anything you can put in one of those foil containers thet you get at the supermarket (about $1.50 for 6) can become a hot meal. Very convenient when you don't want to cook.

Hot Dogs, Dim Sims, Casserole, Shepherds Pie, Apple Pies, Hot Chicken and Mayo Rolls wrapped in foil; only limitation is your imagination.

At $25, I don't know of a better value accessory.

Cheers,

Jim, the fat one.

Hi Guys,
Bought one yesterday and used it all day today to heat sausage rolls for a group tour of Bendethera. Works well.

Cheers,
Rick
