Changing 1FZ to 1HD-(F)T

Would anyone recommend replacing a 1FZ engine with a 1HD-T or 1HD-FT engine? I don't think there is much rewiring to do since the 1HD-(F)T isn't computer controlled and I'm sure the H151F transmission on the 1FZ gas engine has the same bolt pattern with the 1HD. Except for the fuel consumption, I love my '96 Landcruiser and plan to keep it.
