Can any one advise if a Holden Frontera is capable of crossing the
sand dunes in the Coorongarea in the vicinity of Salt
Creek. I have been told that the centre mounted petrol
tank reduces the clearance and can create problems.

Rengatt I have a 2000 mod Frontera, the ground clearence as standard is not great but we have had it in some strange
places before we did a lift.
The front is easy, just wind the torsion bar up to the required height and get a wheel alingnment. The rear requires longer springs. I used a set of "King" springs for around $180 plus I changed to better shocks at the same time.
Hope this has helped.

About 3 inch overall. I have also added BFG AT's which has given about an extra cm.
The Rig shot was last year without the new springs of BFG's. WQe had just finished the
Bourke to Willcania trip after 20 mm of rain. We were stuck in our
camp on the river for a few extra days waithig for the road to dry. Still a slippery trip.

with liftingthe front the 75mm the way you have does itcreate any undue stress on the cv joint or does it affect wheel drop when travelling over pot holes. (once wound up the susp on an old valiant and eventually wore the front end off).

The only effect on the front is the loss of donward wheel travel. This is caused by the surspension coming up onto the Bump Stop. I have not had any problems with the surspension bottoming out when hitting potholes or such.
I have not yet replaced the Bump Stop with a smaller one, but I will.
We have had one 6000km trip and 2 smaller trips since doing it up. One of these was a full blowen 4X4 weekend without the CT in tow.
