Sorry to post this again and I'm happy for it to be deleted in a few days, but I'm just seeking some more opinions at a different time.

I'm looking to get a bigger fridge. I've got a 39 L Engel, about 6 years old, perfect working order, good nick.

Can't find any advertised to gauge the price. Given a new 40L is around $1,200 I'm thinking maybe $700. Is this possible or am I dreamimg?

Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Jim.

Jim,

Rays quite regularly have the Engel 40L with insulating bag for $1000 - I bought one earlier this year and also got a free dual thermometer thrown in. I sold a 29L engel at the time for $550. I would have thought that $700 might be a bit high, but that's only an opinion.

Thanks Geoff,

Any opinion is of value to me.

How old was your 29L Engel that you got $550 for?

Cheers,

Jim.

It was probably around 8 - 10 yrs old, but had always been in a canvas cover and was unmarked.

Advertise for $700 mate and u may get it or even $650 will be easy to get. Trade that sucker up to a waeco and you won't go wrong. More fridge for less $$$$$$$$$$$$$..................That means more beer in fridge jimbo...try fridgeshop.com for a good deal.

I would have thought $700.00 was quite attainable, provided it is in good condition.
My advice, for what it's worth ....... stick with Engel, as you say, yours is 6yo & is in perfect working order, so you are obviously happy with Engel.
There seem to be a few issues with Waeco, faulty lids etc. You will find plenty of threads here saying how good Waeco are with their warranty claims, but that is no help to you halfway across the Simpson Desert with a fridge full of rotten food!

Why not get one of the extensions that go on top of the 40L Engels to providing the extra capacity. Just a thought
