Hi all,
Was running a friend out to Tullamarine airport (melb) on Sunday morning and in the stopping lane near Mickleham rd was a dead roo which had been hit on saturday night. The skippy had no hope bouncing around on the Tullamarine freeway and would have been a surprise to the car which hit it as well by being in this close to suburbia.Just might be a case for bullbars in the suburbs after all.
cheers Mark

Hi Mark,

there's a couple of large mobs near the airport....and not so long ago, whilst travelling along the Ring Road near the first Thomastown exit was a HUGE dead Roo at the side of the road....so they're well and truly about...and would be a shock to unsuspecting motorists...

years ago people used to think they'd land in Oz and see roos bounding along the tarmac at the airport and along roads...these days they just might...

cheers

Lyn

So True Ivan... pain in the derrierre...one bounded thru my front yard the other day with an escaped Blue Heeler in hot pursuit...and one bounded onto the roof of a mates car in Anzac ave just near the memorial...And a widow friend of mine was confronted one morning by several in her back yard browsing on her prize lettuce....

You're not wrong... When I was coming back from Thredbo a month ago, I re-entered the ACT just after dusk, and there were three cars pulled over in a 5km stretch of road. Each had managed to hit a roo, two of them severly enough to destroy their radiators....

welcome to Brisbane ....the damned things are everywhere. 5 kms out of the city you find them...I'm down in redlands shire and I would pass between 5 -10 dead a day doing a 70km commute every day.
