I fitted a Safari Snorkel top to my 79 Series and was wondering what happens to the water that goes in the snorkel when driving in heavy rain, like what were getting in Brisbane at the moment.

Cheers

Hey Jeff,

The snorkel is designed to promote the flow of water via openings around the base of the head of the snorkel. Lok here for more information.

there should be a one way valve in your air cleaner box that allows water out but not in

there is a outlet in the bottom of the air cleaner as stated . I like to run my snorkel head backward when on bush drives and in heavy rain .

May sound silly, but I have a black stocking over the top of mine. Stops bugs etc flying into the air filter and heavy rain whilst still allowing the air flow.
Honestly, it works fine. Worth a try.
