We are going to Tassie in three weeks time for a five week visit. Thought I'd warn anyone heading that way during the Christmas silly season that some of the tourist spots definitely need to be booked ahead.

SWMBO has spent the morning booking tours to some of the better known traps and has had difficulty getting bookings on the days we wanted.

Had to use our third choice of day for the ABT Railway, first two choices already booked out. Had two goes to get a cruise on the Gordon River.

Several other tours we tried to book warned us that we were lucky to get a spot at this late stage.

Just thought I'd warn anyone else heading down that way.

Tassie's a fantastic place to visit.
I know you'll have a great time.
Join the National Trust of Australia (or Qld) and you get free entry into all the historic buildings etc all round the country. (Very good value)
We spent a month or so there a couple of years ago and would love to do it again.
Cheers

We are going on January 8th for two months. The TT line people warned us to make bokings for caravan parks during the school holidays (which last till Feb 8th) which we did no fuss last week. Did not think to book the Abt or boat trip - think we will now!

Thanks
Max
