Gday all, can anyone tell me where they filmed that movie, we like to have a look at places we have seen in movies, apart from being beautiful locations anyway, it's a bit more interesting for the kids as well.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I think it was out Broken Hill/Silverton way.

Hi Gonebush,

I was going to respond with Hawker (SA). I don't think that there is a Hawker in Vic (could be mistaken).

I forget the actor's name (rising local talent) but I think he was seriously injured in a car crash during the shooting of the film.

I'm sure some locals such as Willem or Roachie may be able to expand on this.

Regards,
Hugh

I think from memory Jon Blake was the actor who was injured. Happy to be corrected, though!

Yep - it was Hawker, in the mid Flinders Ranges, SA. The crew camped in a big paddock a few K out of town and did the filming in that region (my source was an 'extra').

Oooh! oooh! oooh! - me! - pick me! - I know the answer to this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know for sure that parts of the Light Hoseman were filmed on, and around Mount Fraser (across the road from our house) at Beveridge, Victoria. Parts of Gallipoli were also filmed at Beveridge.

Where did they film "The Lighthorsemen"?

The original movie of "The Lighthorsemen" was filmed at Kurnell in the sand hills
the "Birthplace of our Nation"
I'm proud to know this fact as my grandfather was one.

I believe that the Charles Chervell film that was shot in the Kurnell was "40,000 Hoursmen"

PS some of the scenes of the caravan park in "The Man who sued God" with Billy Connolly were done in Botany Bay National Park. Lots of Aussie TV Shows have also been filmed here. Carolyn
