Hi All,

Does anyone know for sure what transfer case is in the 04 diesel navara?
I think it is a TX10a.

Is it the same as the pathfinder??

I want to put crawler gaers in my truck and know that theu are available for patrols and pathfinders.

The patrol has a TX 12a transfer case which is different to the Navara.

Help!!!!

i dont think it is the tx 10a as i think that is the v6 option? (someone may confirm)
the same as the pathfinder.

there is no traction controls available for the front on td or diesel models to date unless you want to sign my petition to arb for one to be designed (only a slight mod on another model.

same with the crawler (spelling /brand?) gears im sure the were only the pathfinder v6 option.

sux doesnt it.

first gear low is pretty good but would be better if a 50 % reduction was available at least?

the word i got from lock rite and arb was the diesel front diff is too small for a locker ( i personally believe this to be crap my zook diff is smaller!)

spread the navara word
have you tried the nissan offroad forum in the states there are some awesome rigs there on the frontier as they are known in the states.

cheers

Not small physically, but unable to withstand the torque the TD engine produces.

I am also looking at a R200a diff swap out of a V6 Navara, The ratios are wrong so a new Crown wheel and pinion would be needed, But ARB does a locker for it.

Any body have any info on if it will fit etc. worst case I might need diff/axles/hubs from a V6 as the spline counts etc may all be different.

The V6 has 4.625 diff and the diesel has 4.375 maybe I'll put 4.625 in the rear and forget about the crawler gears. Lots of options.

Could get V6 diffs, crawler gears and bigger tyres.
Otherwise I would imagine it would rev like a %@$% on the hwy.

Hi Toonfish,
I have seen the calmini products and a couple of problems with them.
1) the reduction is just silly for anything but extreme rock crawling.
2) the transfer case gets butchered to fit them.
3) still not sure if the seppo frontiers use a different transfer case.
4) just way toooooooo expensive.

If I was "real serious" I would not have bought a new navara but spent the same money on a old truck that i would make into a competition vehicle.

The navara represents a great compromise for me as it is fast comfortable reliable and will go everywhere I want to go, My mods are aimed to get my navara to go as far with my camper trailer in tow as a stock navara would go by it self.

So these mods are slightly lower low range and some traction aids.

Where is your locker petition???????
