After any information relating to Cape Flattery access, alcohol restrictions, permits (if required) etc... Have been up the beach before the mine but don't know if any restrictions are in place in relation to accessing beach on the northern side of the mine.
Regards
Hems.

Hems,
Been there quite a few times but not in the last 3-4 years. Never ever obtained a permit, but it is indigenous land so if you want to do the right thing contact Hopevale Mission re permit and alcohol restrictions.
One time we signed a visitors book at the mine office before proceeding to the beach, but the next year that was all out the door.
BIG RED who posts on overlander went there this year so he may have some current information.
Cheers,
Bros.

I was the general area in late August this year- but didn't actually go into the mining area at Cape Flattery. There is a $10 fee to access Hope Vale land and this also gives you access to Elim Beach. I understand that the road into Cape Flattery includes a substantial section where you have to travel along the beach. You also may need a permit for the Cape as Mitsubishi has the mining lease and would probably limit access for public liability reasons.
Cheers
Pete
