g'day kata,

i have looked at quite a few 4runners, for myself and for friends, most are in pretty good condition, because none went to the government, all private owners, alot of 1 owners too. the things to watch with the 3VZ-E (3lt V6) engines is the head gasket (notorious for blowing them) they even had a recall on them and rebuilt the whole top end, a $2000 job, it'd be good to see reciepts.

The second thing i've found, only on SR5 models is a funny noise with the Auto Locking Hubs, (not available on RV6 models). when 4WD is selected and a hard lock, left or right, there is an unhealthy clicking cv type noise coming from the front.

Coincidently, my family is selling a 91 RV6, If your interested,

If your not interested, all the best with the shopping... don't forget to enjoy it!

Hi Sam_84h

Thanks for the useful info,

wasnt aware of the head gasket issue....

Ive heard a few stories about the auto locking hubs, but have figured if that is an issue on the one I get that id upgrade it from a later Hilux(98 onwards) auto hubs
btw... not really sure of the differences but figure not that much...

I am really after the above options but thanks for the offer..

cheers
Kata

Hi Kata

Have you considered a Challenger? And before you laugh, I am completely serious..a very under rated car. I have a silver 2002 5 speed manual, all kitted out (suspension, long range tank, bull bar, driving lights, dual battery, all terrain tyres, towbar, cargo barrier etc) still under factory warranty that you can have for $29,000.

Have a serious think and then let me know if you want a picture.

you can contact me on 0413 583 165 or via email at

smcgovern@denhamconstructions.com.au

Cheers

Hi Voodoochild,

Thanks for the option, but it is way over my budget at the moment.

I have just gotten married and have a morgage, so my bank balance has suffered and dont want to borrow any more money for the time being.

(I can here all the ...u poor bugger etc etc comments)
Im young and need to learn the hard way....hehehehehe

By getting the above mentioned car I can put a few options on ASAP and then slowly do what else..

cheers
So If anybody has any leads it would be appreciated.
