Are there any owners out there that have either a 100 series V8 Landcruiser auto 5 speed or the same in Turbo Diesel that can give me some realistic consumption figures for h'way & city. Thanks in advance.

Going by all the owners and the fuel usage details at the www.lcool.org 100 series email list the TD hwy and round town 14-16lt per 100km and the V8 18-21lt per 100km, but the fitting of a unichip to the V8 brings that back to 16-18lt per 100km.
Towing the TD goes to 18-20lt per 100 and the v8 22-24lt per 100km.

td 5spd auto 2004
anywhere from 12 to 20 litres per 100km
unloaded bit of round town and country rds about 12l / 100km standard tyres
285/75/16 a/t loaded up(heavily acceccorised with roofrack)-roofbag a liitle over roofrack height(arb rack) mostly highway 14.5-15l / 100km
same as second scenario except 4 adults, roofrack with about 3ft of crap on top ie swags, bags, riding gear etc towing trailer with 3 motorbikes 20litres /100km
note not exactly light on go pedal and able to maintain 110km on hills where needed-maybe slightly over speed limit at times especially when overtaking which was still easy.
these are real life scenarios- my opinion is roofrack kills the fuel economy (cant be my driving)
figures toyota quote are reasonably accurate if car is empty and no accessories and driven like a granny
hope this helps
ps at end of the day u dont buy one of these either v8 or t/d for fuel economy(only my opinion anyway)

I agree with Fozzy. In my eyes economy should not ultimately affect your decision on what car to get. I think proven reliability should along with the longevity of the drivetrain and mechanicals.

We have (5) 2003 TD Autos in our fleet as salemens vehicles, and the fleet reports all show figures of approx 12.5 to 13.5 L/100km's. Averaging 40 to 50k per year. No accessories, but they tow a 2000kg trailer for approx 10-15% of the time. All around town (50%), and highway(50%) use only.
Just what I am seeing any way.

I have V8 Landcruiser 5 speed. Highway 13l 100km is do able if you don't flog it About 14l per 100 km is easy to achieve I Prob avarage city/country of 16l per 100k Worst I have ever achieved was about 20l per 100km towing approx 2.5 tonnes at speeds of up to around 130km in a hurry

My folks took my 04 TD 100 5spd Auto aroud OZ 14,000km trip. Vehicle was fitted with Steel B/Bar, Rear Bar, 285's, Steel Roof Rack, but not too much gear on board and was not driven too hard (so they tell me) and they averaged 13.5 l/100km. When I first picked it up, std tyres & no accessories was getting 10.5 l/100km hwy.
Around town I get about 14.5 l/100km

Thanks for all your answers. As a
point of interest has anyone had any front diff problems in the independent front
suspension or a so called knock in the V8 on start up which I believe Toyota is trying to rectify.

Chris,
Have recently purchased 4.2TD, auto, not much on it yet, drove from Adel to
Mildura, sat on 110kph on the way up except a couple of times up to 140, 100kmph on the way back, 10.76l/100.
Just in process of calculating city driving now.
I am pretty happy so far.
