Hi,
What is the problem with the IFS on the cruiser as the front end is at least 50mm lower than the back unlike the solid axle coil spring version which is level.
Looks like a problem off road dragging the front end like that!

It's a design feature to improve fuel consumption as it's always going down
hill;-)

Read it somewhere in 4wd mthly recently I think. Will have a look.
Cannot believe they still put the spare under though...so now they'll drag the front and back.

Someone told me that the front needs to be lower than the back for the car to behave properly on the road, but as you say, the live axle isn't that low, and why couldn't they have made it higher - like similar to the live axle? You can't get more than 30-40 mm lift without risking future problems, and the torsion bar mounts seem to be cracking with some regularity, even with unmodified vehicles. Sounds dodgy to me, but I don't have to worry, coz I ain't got one.....
On the off road front, I've seen Gary W go some 'interesting'
places with his - no problem whatever. In fact, he reckons it's better in some ways, because the diff isn't in the way. Still rather have my live axle...

Someone mention my name?? *grin*
Yep I like my IFS. Better center ground clearance at the front. Have to say that since the reports of lower control arm breakages I'm a bit nervous. So I try not to bounce my way around.
Wind the Tbars up about 30mm and add 285/75/16 tyres to get another 25mm and the lowest part of the vehicle is the rear diff.
I don't know why the rake on the IFS 100 is so steep. The factory
suspension is so soft it may be to do with the countering the sag you get after the first 20,000ks *shrug*
