Well the time has come to take my son Dean into the outback . I am looking to drive to Big red and maby Birdsville in the midyear school holidays. So if anyone here is interested , let me know so we can get the ball rolling .
Willem if your available at that time , I know you mentioned a Birdsville trip in Robe so lets get it on. So far it's 2 cars , my cruiser and mate in his Disco with his son also.

Eric,
I'm planning a round trip (Innaminka/Birdsville) with the the boys and their boys (6 blokes and 5 lads) around the mid year. Trying to sort out dates as they are coming from 3 states and the holidays dont gell. but taking then out of school is not an issue.Great learning trip for em. If we cant travel with you we can certainly meet up somewhere ..what you reckon ?

Hello Eric

I am most likely going to be somewhere out in the western deserts at that time but you never know where I may turn up. The problem with school holdays is that there will be standing room only on Big Red. If you are going north from SA then you must go through Birdsville to get to Big Red unless you come up the K1 line from Warburton Crossing or via the Rig Road and the French Line. This year I happened to visit Birdsville and environs in May and in September. Before that I visited last in 1987. Birdsville has changed dramatically since those times and is the growth centre of Queensland these days with new houses appearing throughout the town. The last frontier is disappearing fast.

Eric, we're looking at Birdsville and some of the Simpson early April if that fits in.
