I am looking at crossing the
Simpson Desert next year around
Easter time.
Is this a good time to do this trip and how hot with the weather be? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Easter is a great time to do it. It is the beginning of the season so the roads are usually in good nick, and there are fewer tourists on the road. The other side of the coin is that the Simpson hasn't been crossed too much so the track can be a little tougher (ie. dunes more pronounced on top sometimes requiring punching through ) and there are fewer people crossing (in case you need assistance).
As far as weather.....Do you know what the temperature is going to be where you live next
Easter?
It can still be quite hot (around the 40's), though often it has already dropped to low to mid 30's. With the cattle drive starting end of April/early May there will be a bit of activity going on in
Birdsville.
As Willem has said, take a closer look at this site and you'll have all the info. you need for your trip.
Good Luck.
