Im travelling home to Melb from Fraser on the 6th Jan via the Pacific Hwy...Never done this before.......checking out all the towns from Byron Bay to
Newcastle...Im planning to stay between Crescent Head and Forster Tuncurry. Being school holidays do these areas become so busy I will not find somewhere to stay??
Most happiest to
Camp or Caravan
Park
Regards
Steve

You will certainly need to book at any of the popular spots (Byron etc)
The main problem you will encounter doing this is most parks will have a minimum booking period of 1 or 2 weeks. You will need to call ahead a couple of days in advance of your arrival to check availability.

Steve,
Get a copy of "Camps Australia Wide 2", available from this web site, and check out all the free parks if you can't book in anywhere.
