Lokka front diff

I am considering a lokka on the front of a 60 series Toyota. I have read the archives and think I have had most questions answered.. I think it will suit my needs for heavy stuff. But when driving long distances on a dirt road where normally i would use 4WD, but where the conditions aren't too extreme, maybe just corrugations, ie borderline with 2wd. How will a lokka behave? Is it detrimental to the lokka or driving comfort to leave it engaged for longish runs under these conditions. The Tanami track for example.

I know guys who have lokka's in the rear diffs, they drive with them all the time engaged. Theres no detrimental effect on them having them engaged for long distances, in fact they are designed to cope with this type of use. I have one in the front of my wifes Patrol and its never been a problem.

I have one in the front of the troopy. While there maybe some mechanical issues for wear etc, the driver feel is one of the steering having an intense desire to centralise. That is, you may get tired if you have to use a lot of wheel control. Of course if you are driving cautiously, you could lock the hubs, drive in 2wd and only engage 4wd when necessary. In 2wd, there is no effect at all on the driver.
I found it a great product.

Play with the air pressure in your front tyres this will change the intensity of the pull to center.

I have one in the rear of the cruiser and love it , ran one in the front and hated it , went for a air locker in the front .

Thanks for the replies.... but now i really am confused. From archive posts around this subject, I thought it was pretty cut and dried that one on the front was the way to go.
(My 60 series doesn't have an LSD, so I guess I need to put a rear LSD in first?)
Previous posts regularly reffered to a vehicle behaviour described as "pig rootin" when cornering with a rear lokka and seemed to suggest it was better to stick to the front for lokkas.
Does anyone have any more thoughts?

go the whole hog and put air lockers front and rear, no pig rooting there.no dramas on road, engage when needed.

I cringe at the mere thought, had a lokka in the front of the 60, if your looking to buiold upper body strength and love the smell of burning power steering fluid there is nothing better. what a waste of money, don't get me wrong straight line traction was fantastic but, do you always want to ga straight. I have replaced it with air lockers front and rear, WOW what a huge improvement, my advice save for air lockers everytime. P.S. if you drive in the snow pay your life insurance, lokka makes for scary corners with chains on.
