I have just seen a new (to me anyway) "cheap" GM generator in my local Bunnings it was a 950w model totally different to the usual. It was going for $398.00. Wonder what they'll cost in twelve months.

These are ok.... some returns but Bunnings will refund or exchange and I think they have a 2 year warranty....

I would be interested to hear of a consumer electro/mechanical product which had zero returns? Don't these GMC gen sets have a 30 day "satisfaction" guarantee?

PS. My $98 gen is still running OK :)

My brother in law and I both use GM power
tools and find that not only being cheaper than but are generally better than the more expensive brand names. I wouldn't be put off by the price - in this case anyway

Ive had some experence in the "GM" products
1st was a compound mitre saw. its ok but nothing special. The blade has been known to flex and the cassis is not ridged enough. the main proplem is the motor wont spin up enought revs.
2nd was battery hand drill. now tis was a dissapointment from the start. The motor as plenty of torque but no revs. its works ok with 7mm to 10mm drill bits but anything under that forget it.
3rd was an angle grinder. for $20 it works just fine no probs at all.
to be honest any tool you need to have a lot of revs or precision I wound not buy from GMC.
BTW bunning hand a 2200 watt gennie for 695 last week now thats a bargin. For us in QLD the light go out for days on end in storm season.
