Hi I have some information regarding the suzuki grand vitara for those who own -are thinking of buying one. I owm a 1998 grand with the 25A engine (92KW) As such as a get around car its great in town with good pick up at the lights. We have travelled to
william creek the east and west Mcdonnels Kings canyon and various trips into the Victorian bush. Take note of the following points.
1. Ground clearance is not adequete for serious bush driving you will need to pick your line where bigger 4bys will just plow through.
2. The standard rear shockers are not up too a fully loaded suzi with 2 people a Thulr roof carry and all the gear for a serious trip - expect to hit the stops on washouts etc.
3. The Bridgstone dueller tyres (Both H/T and A/T) are RUBBISH they will only last 30000 klm if your lucky they clog up in soft mud and the rate of wear is apalling - Try TOYO tyres they have lasted 45klms and are half worn and better self cleaning (currently at 100000 klm after 2 sets of Duellers.
4. The New suzuki Grand vitara in 2005 will have the xl7 engine at 134 kw if you can wait buy that. (about mid year)
5. I have an east coast bull bar unlless your serious just geta nudge bar the full bull bar slightly changes the way the car handles due to drag.
Regards
Dave

Good info. However I think you will find that most of this info is relevant to any stock 4x4.

Interesting. Is yours 2 or 4 door (both called 'grand')? do you know any more about the new 2005 vitara?
