I'm currently looking at buying a CUB offroad camper trailer & would appreciate any feedback from experienced users. Specifically around reliability and
water & dust proofing.

Are you buying new or s/hand?
I've had two cub campers, bought the first on in 79, a Campomatic and the second in 88, an Off road Supamatic, both base models with nothing in them, we have the truck fitted out to live out of, the camper is just used for sleeping,
cook outside etc.
They both have absorbed some terrific punishment over the years but did need strengthening and mods before use.
The later ones have incorporated a few of the mods and are generally better built.

Looking at a new supamatic drover. Main punishment will be corrugations.

what sort of
suspension does it have, I'm not familiar with the newer ones, if it has leaves (which are ok) make sure you get shocks with it.

DD64,
I have 2002 escape offroad, our first trip last year was out to camerons corner and up to Innaminca then across to
Cunnamulla and back to the Gong . The major problem on that trip was dust sealing around the floor and wheel arches is non-existant. When we got home 2 large tubes of silastic fixed the problem. Also it leaked
water when sittng in the driveway (folded up) around the top seam, again some silastic fixed the problem. I contacted Cub but didn't even get a reply. As mentioned I stengthen the spring hangers more for peace of mind than anything. This year we went up to the Gulf and down through western QLD & the
corner country, it has never missed a beat and has been across some fairly rough roads. Overall I am very happy with the unit especially when compared to the price of some others (nearly double the Cub). I've done a few other mods like moving the spare to underneath and mounting an aluminium box on the front to carry the fridge and gear.

We purchased a new Cub supamatic drover off road just over 12 months ago.
Seven leaf eye to eye springs and shock absorbers. We tow it with a Jackaroo (petrol) without any problems.
It's done a couple of hard off road trips, the last being the obligatory Camerons Corner/Innaminka trip.
Generally speaking we are reasonably happy with it but there are a couple of things I'm not too impressed with.
Between
Tibooburra and Camerons Corner one of the shockies came away from the frame. It didn't hamper the trip at all and I waited until I got home to fix it.
Didn't take it back to Cub - got the local caravan dealer to weld it back on. He also checked the weld on the other shockie and found it about to come away also so he fixed it too. In his view Cub trailers will do the job but they are a bit "agricultural". Then again he's a Corrimal caravan dealer and maybe he thought he could sell me one. I do agree with him that the original welds on my trailer were a bloody poor job!
The other thing which annoys us is the way the tent section folds up and out. We find we have to continually adjust everything to get it to sit properly and when youv'e been on the road all day and just want to crawl into bed it can be a pain.
Haven't had any problem with
water getting in anywhere. Dust has not been a problem in the storage area under the bed but dust does get in through the ventilation plate behind the fridge. I'm not sure what to do about that because we like to have the fridge on 12 volt while we are travelling in which case I won't cover the plate up.
Apart from those problems it does the job - goes anywhere the car goes and I don't have any hesitation about taking it off road again. Heading to
Goulburn river national park next weekend and outback Qld next year.

John, If you figure out how to keep the canvas tight let me know, as you say every time we put it up I try some different way to tighten but !!!!!!!
As you say they are very agricultural , I had to make bushes for the shockies . But they are strong overall and heaps more storage space than the others.
