Anyone got any comments, good or bad re this insurance mob. Looking at re-insuring everything, 2 x cars, home/contents and camper trailer. Policies sounded good over the phone, but any first hand info re claims etc.

western qbe had a policy of waiting 4 weeks to see if a stolen vehicle is found before they will even think about a payout. A friend had a motorbike stolen, and took six weeks for payout, once all the paperwork and screwing around got done. Too bad it was his only transport! no hire car or bike...

Nine weeks wait before they even started to repair my sisters gemini after a hit/run rear ender... their excuse..."we are still investigating the other party". she didn't even get a partial number plate and no witnesses... who the hell were they "investigating"? On the other hand I used them(before this incident) to cover my Rocky. Guy came through a red light and cleaned me up... Back on the road in under 3 weeks.
I guess they're all the same to some degree... Good and bad stories about all.

D-Jack - We have all our insurances with Western QBE / QBE and for a very simple reason. When our Pajero burnt out the computer after a small fire at
Windy Corner QBE readily paid for the vehicle recovery to Capricorn Roadhouse/ road transport to
Perth and all the repairs. Everything was done quickly and we we were advised at each step. We were stuck at
Capricorn Roadhouse for 5 days and if we wanted any info or to advise Western QBE of anything we just rang on the public phone to Western QBE in Albury and they would just say hang up so they could call back on the Roadhouse phone.
They even paid for the labour portion routine service of the vehicle that happened to be due at that time.
After having problems with other companies I can only sing their praises. Premiums are also comparable. Regards Plugger
