There is a lot of discussion on various forums i visit about
toilet cassettes and the washing of them after emptying in the loo and then rinsing in the hand basin, the point i make is why would it be necessary to wash the cassette out,i never have ,i just put more chemicals in and away we go. I would be totally against washing the cassette in the basin,i mean people use the basin for teeth cleaning and personal useses

Know what you mean. I don't use these loo's but have seen people do just that in public basins. Also saw a bloke empty his bleep bucket into the laundry basin at one
park we stayed at. There really are some dirty bastar.s out there.

I often rinse the cassette out after emptying it, by finding an external tap and putting some
water in and giving it a bit of a shake around. I then empty the rinse
water down the
dump point or
toilet and often there is a reasonable amount of waste coming out in the rinse.
When we come home after a trip it is always rinsed before going back into the van for storing.
I agree that cassettes should NEVER be rinsed in wash or laundry basins.

It pays to rinse the pot out as this clears any gunk from the slide and vent, also when you add more eco friendly chemicals the mix is correct, provided you use the correct mix for your pot capacity.
And yes there are some dirty baskets out there, but the majority do the right thing.
We should always ask at c/parks where the
dump point is even if you know there are none as this will gradually sink in that vanners and motor homers do need this facility.
